Missoula, MT to Middleofnowhere, ID

Another state line! This was the top of Lolo pass. The last major climb of the tour.

Highway 12 through Idaho was surprisingly awesome. It was very rural and followed the Lochsa river, proving some great scenery. The campground where I stayed was not in, or even near a town.

Missoula, MT

Took the weekend off in Missoula and had great weather for the first time since.. uh... well, I honestly can't remember. Two beautiful days that would have been ideal for riding! But it was nice to relax and get off the bike for a while.

Darby, MT to Missoula, MT

The ride into Missoula was nice and sunny, but a little cool. Thermal top, long sleeve jersey, and tights in mid June! Missoula is home to the Adventure Cycling headquarters, so I paid them a visit to sign the guest book and gorge on the free ice cream they offer.

There was a couple visiting the ACA headquarters that was riding cross country with their 8 year old (i think) triplets. They were riding a tandem and this triple. Each pulling a trailer and with rear panniers.

Jackson, MT to Darby, MT

The morning started out cold and sunny, and after about 20 miles turned to cold and rainy. Donnie, Dana, and I waited out the rain in this little bar in Wisdom, MT. They wimped out and hitched a ride from here, I toughed it out and rode on.

This was not a bad climb, but it started snowing on me during the climb! It didn't last long, and had pretty much stopped by the time I got to the top, but still, snow in June. Crazy!

The descent was fun, but cold. There was a super wide shoulder the whole way down, which was really nice.
